VBC and its commitment to positive net on CO2 emissions over web services
According to statistics, 27 million business cards are printed daily. Try to use your imagination and visualize the number 27 million… This number turns into almost 10,000,000,000 business cards printed annually. 88% of business cards are thrown away in less than a week.
We strongly believe that digital transformation won’t be enough as solution to protect our planet, that’s why we have joined Treedom Community. As we care about our planet, we think that only a common and shared effort will bring to solid results while talking about environment. Just talking about sustainability is not enough. We have decided to take a number of actions aimed at fully offsetting our CO2 production.
Our infrastructure has been designed to be sustainable. In addition, we have started a cooperation with TREEDOM to plant new trees in sensitive areas of the planet. Treedom allows anyone to plant a tree remotely and follow it online. Treedom brings tree planting into the 21st century by providing companies with a customized interactive platform to launch green initiatives. Since its launch in 2010, over half a million new trees have been planted in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Italy. All the carefully selected trees are planted by local farmers, financed directly by Treedom.
And this is what VBC is engaging in: while working, even in digital, we produce a quantity of CO2 emissions that we want to contribute to absorb by creating our crowd forest with Treedom. While bringing environmental benefits, we are also improving people’s lives and that’s what makes us proud.
